If you would like ideas on how to help your children keep their bedrooms tidy, I have a free resource for you! I enjoy listening to podcasts by Lisa Woodruff at Organize 365. She is a professional organizer. She has many podcasts about decluttering, organizing, and productivity for adults. She has also branched out to include a podcast series for teaching children how to care for their bedrooms. The podcasts are for ages 8 and older: https://organize365.com/kids/
A few months ago, I explained to my 8-year-old daughter that I had some special podcasts for kids like her. She was very excited! She knows I listen to a lot of podcasts, and she loved the idea that someone had made podcasts for her age. I printed out the printables from Organize 365 for kids, and then I gave my daughter the iPad to listen to the podcasts in her bedroom. Each day she worked on her bedroom, she was really excited to show me her progress.
Now that several months have passed, her bedrooms is cleaner than ever. It is much easier now for my 8-year-old daughter to maintain, even with an adorable, tornado-like 4-year-old sister roommate who makes the most of the mess. With an uncluttered room, it is quick for the girls to clean up together.
If you are interested in using the Organize 365 podcasts with your children, I encourage you to listen to them first. That way you understand the way she is teaching your child to organize his/her room and then you can more easily speak with your child about it.
If you have a New Year’s Resolution to “get organized” in your kitchen, closet, storage area, etc., you might enjoy hearing podcasts at Organize 365 for inspiration.
